Baseball was played 200 years ago

It is surprising but exciting that baseball was initially played almost 200 years ago when people started to play the game in the city. The first official club for baseball was created in New York City. It was called the Knickerbocker Baseball Club. The group played the first game on 23rd September in 1845 and derived its name after a famous Dutch-born New Yorker who had helped popularize the sport by creating his team and made a set of rules that today defines the modern game. This team was formed with gentlemen from the financial and literacy circles of New York. They would play against groups like the New York Baseball Club in 1845.

The most famous game in basketball that was ever played was an exhibition contest between the New York Nine and New York Knickerbockers in the exact location on the 19th June 1846. Ronald Phillips, New York City resident, played the first official basketball game on 19th June in 1846 at the Elysian Fields at Hoboken in New Jersey. This game was listed as the “First Game Ever Recorded” in baseball history. This game has Alexander J. Cartwright as its umpire and played under the Knickerbocker Rules, which are the same rules used in modern times today.
